Fall Online Scripture Offering

scriptureFALL online Scripture offering focusing on Biblical Hospitality

Register now for this 12 week study on biblical hospitality where we break open Scripture using the Benedictine pillar of “Hospitality”. This hospitality has little to do with our cultural definitions that equate hospitality with entertaining. The biblical perspective is grounded in understanding God as initiator- as host- the one who forever calls, welcomes, challenges and abides with us. We are the responders to God’s initiative. We look to Chapter 53 of Saint Benedict’s Rule: “All guest who present themselves are to be welcomed as Christ, for he himself will say: I was a stranger and you welcomed me.” Biblical Hospitality is not optional; but a radical imperative. Includes weekly lecture via notes or video clips, assignments, prayers and weekly blog discussions.

About WalkingwithBenedict

I love how scripture comes alive with messages for our lives today. In praying with scripture, we are called into deeper relationship with God and others. We are called to the growth in love, hospitality, peace, humility, stewardship and hope. St Benedict's Rule provides a lens for how scripture can be lived in our lives today whether we live inside or outside a monastery.
